Parent Communications
We know that everyone prefers certain types of communication, and we have developed several to accommodate all families in our district: emails, text messages, phone calls and postal mail.
However, we cannot provide parents with communication if we do not have their needed contact information on file at our schools. It is very important for all parents to provide ALL of these on the student emergency form at the beginning of each school year: mailing address, mobile and home phone numbers, and email address.
To update your information please contact our office on this website via the form on the Contact Us page, or by calling (847) 358-2110.
THE FAMILY ENVELOPE SYSTEM
This is the most common method the school and faculty will communicate with everyone. The family envelope system goes home every Wednesday with the youngest child in a family. The envelope should be signed by the parent and returned back to the school on Thursday. This envelope will have a weekly newsletter that gives you information on upcoming events, things to know, and other fun stuff. The envelope is also used to send home various order forms: hot dog/pizza day lunch order forms, field trip forms, sport team forms, and other permission forms. If money is ever required to be sent to the school, the family envelope should be used to send the money. This includes money for field trips, sports fees, and hot dog/pizza day lunches. The family envelope is NOT to be used to distribute party invitations or other personal notes to other families.

We Take Safety Seriously.
STV takes extra precautions to provide a SAFE school campus. We recently installed a new security system which includes cameras at every door. Our secured campus includes a locked doors with buzzer system, mandatory visitor sign-in/out, background checks and certification is required for all volunteers, and a private playground. Our staff has also worked in conjunction with Palatine Police Department to develop an Emergency Operating Plan which is taught to every classroom.
