St. Thomas of Villanova School admits students of any race, color, sex, national, and ethnic origins to all rights, privileges, programs, and activities available at the school.

Registration

At the time of registration the following are required:

Grades 1-8

  • Birth Certificate
  • Transfer Notice from Previous School
  • School Registration Form
  • Updated Medical Forms
  • Emergency Form and Intent to Comply with Rules and Policies of St. Thomas
  • Registration Fee

Kindergarten and Preschool

Students entering school must be age appropriate – 3, 4, or 5, before September 1 of the current year. All children must be toilet trained. Please provide the following:

  • Birth Certificate
  • Updated Medical Forms
  • School Registration Forms
  • Emergency Form and Intent to Comply with Rules and Policies of St. Thomas
  • Registration Fee
  • First Month Preschool Tuition

2015-2016 Tuition Plan

All families who send their children to St. Thomas of Villanova School pay tuition as set and determined annually by the School Board. The tuition rate for the 2015—2016 school year for pre-school and for kindergarten through eighth grade is listed in the tables below.

**Parishioners from St. Edna’s Parish, Arlington Heights, are eligible for Contributing Parishioner rates.

Tuition Payments

Tuition may be paid using one of the following payment plans:

  • 10 months: September 1 through June 1, paid the first week of the month
  • Quarterly: July 1, October 1, January 1, April 1, paid the first week of the month
  • Other: made by special arrangement with the Principal
  • Please Note: A $10 service charge per month is applied to late tuition payments

Contributing Parishioners

A contributing parishioner is one who:

  • Attends Mass regularly at St. Thomas of Villanova Parish.
  • Donates to the Sunday collection to the best of their financial ability.
  • Fulfills the fundraising requirement of $340.00 per child. Fundraising can be met by a combination of any of the following: Track-A-Thon, additional FSA Lottery Tickets, additional DSP purchases. Pre-school families are encouraged, but not obligated, to do fundraising.
  • Purchases 20 lottery tickets to support the Family School Association (FSA).
  • Participates in the Dollar Shopping Power (DSP) program based on number of children attending St. Thomas.
  • Serves at FSA activities that total 20 points. (10 points for single parents ) or pays fee of $20 per point for not serving. Fee must be paid before final report card is issued. Subject to Principal’s review.

  • Pre-school Material Fee
    2 half days – $200 3 half days – $250 5 half days – $335
    2 full days – $250 3 full days – $325 5 full days – $450
  • Lunch Supervision Fee $50 per full time student ( pre-school prorated to $10 per day )

Scholarships

Scholarship funding is available for families who are unable to pay the fixed rates. All requests should be made through the Principal and Pastor. All information is kept confidential.

2:25 p.m. Dismissal Before and After School Care is offered for both full day 3- and 4- year old preschool.

If needed, St. Thomas does provide a Daycare Program for students before and/or
after regular school hours.

Students may not enter the building before school begins. Upon arrival they should
line up at their assigned areas outside. On days of inclement weather students may
enter the building upon arrival.

Students are requested not to arrive earlier than 7:30 a.m. or stay after 2:30 p.m.
unless they are participating in a particular activity such as band or attending
any meetings. There is no one at school before or after these times to supervise
the children.

Uniform Regulations

Girls

White blouse Long or short sleeves, must have a collar or turtleneck
Shift (K-3) or skirt K-8 STV plaid (straps may not be worn on skirts)
Skorts or Split skirts STV plaid – not navy blue
Walking shorts Navy blue that stop just above the knee – purchase through School Belles

Note: Split skirts and walking shorts must be worn with navy, red or white
tights in cold weather.

Slacks Navy blue, straight legged dress pants. All navy blue pants are acceptable provided
they are not jeans, cargo pants, skin tight, do not fade like jeans, and do not
have colored top stitching, decorative buttons or trim.
Sweaters Long sleeved, solid red cardigan, pullover, or sleeveless pullover must be purchased
from SchoolBelles.
Sweatshirts STV sweatshirts only –must be purchased from SchoolBelles
Socks or tights Solid white, red, or navy blue anklets (not footies) that can be seen above the
shoe.
Shoes Brown or black leather shoes or gym shoes. Gym shoes must be ties or Velcro. No
clogs, mules, slip-ons, or platform

Boys

White shirt Long or short sleeve, must have a collar or turtleneck.
Pants Navy blue, straight-legged dress pants. All navy blue pants are acceptable provided
they are not jeans, cargo pants, skin tight, do not fade like jeans, and do not
have colored top stitching, decorative buttons or trim.
Walking Shorts Navy blue that stop just above the knee, purchased through SchoolBelles and worn
Aug – Nov. 1st and April 1st – June.
Sweaters Long sleeved, solid red cardigan, pullover, or sleeveless pullover must be purchased
from SchoolBelles.
Sweatshirts STV sweatshirts only – must be purchased from SchoolBelles.
Socks Solid white, red, or navy blue anklets (not footies) that can be seen above the
shoe.
Shoes Brown or black leather shoes or gym shoes. Gym shoes must be ties or Velcro. No

Girls and Boys

Makeup STV students are not allowed to wear makeup, including nail polish, to school.
Jewelry Students may wear stud earrings, watches, and simple medals or crosses on chains.
Hair Students hair must be neat and clean, boys’ hair is to be no longer that the top
of the collar and fad hairdos are not acceptable. Hair ribbons and bows must be
uniform plaid or red, white, or navy blue.

Gym Uniforms

Gr. K Gym shoes
Gr. 1 – 3 Navy blue shorts or STV sweatpants, gym shoes, and gym bags. Gold STV gym shirtsare optional.
Gr. 4 – 8 Gold STV gym shirts, navy blue gym shorts or STV sweatpants, Gym shoes, and gymbag.

Gold STV gym shirts, sweats, and gym shorts are sold at SchoolBelles.

Any type of navy blue gym short with elastic waist is permitted.

Gym bags are can be purchased through the office.
